The Joint Organisations Data Initiative (JODI) is an outcome of the producer‐consumer dialogue in the
International Energy Forum and a flagship activity for the IEF Secretariat. Nearly 100 countries are
submitting oil data covering products and flows on a monthly basis to JODI with the aim of
contributing to the oil market transparency that again will reduce market volatility and enhance
global energy security.
The Government of Norway has generously provided to the Secretariat additional funding to
promote Jodi among developing countries. This enables the Secretariat to offer short‐term
internships at Secretariat Headquarters in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia for officials in developing countries
dealing directly with oil market statistics.
The Secretariat invites IEF and Jodi participating countries to forward applications from
interested candidates in their relevant energy agencies. A primary objective of the internships
would be to strengthen working level contacts between the country in question and the
Secretariat as well as to improve and maintain the quality of national data submissions to Jodi.
The envisaged duration of the short‐term Jodi internships will be one – two weeks.
The IEF Secretariat is co‐ordinating Jodi with the active support of partner organizations: the Asia‐
Pacific Economic Co‐operation (APEC), the European Union through Eurostat, the International
Energy Agency (IEA), the Latin‐American Energy Organization (OLADE), the organization of
Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC and the United Nations through the UN Statistics Division.
