IEF Secretary-General Aldo Flores was invited to deliver a keynote address at the DHL Global Energy Conference held at the Houston Petroleum Club on 07 October 2014. Dr Flores' keynote presentation "The Producer-Consumer Dialogue – Insights into the Conversation" was delivered to an audience of more than 110 representatives of upstream, midstream and downstream oil and gas companies, service companies and chemical organisations. The highly interactive agenda involved panel discussions on subjects ranging from transportation capacity constraints to risk management and offered participants the opportunity for face-to-face dialogue focusing on the theme of the conference "Shaping the Future – Intelligent Energy Logistics".
The event also featured a special presentation by Dr Donald Sadoway, Professor in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Dr Sadoway's presentation on "Innovation in Energy Storage: Securing the Supply Chain" is available for download below:
Dr Flores was also recently interviewed by Tony Greenway of DHL's Delivered magazine. The resultant article on the producer-consumer dialogue is entitled "Power-Steering" and is featured in the September 2014 edition of the publication.
