26th session of UNECE Committee on Sustainable Energy

IEF Secretary General, Dr Sun Xiansheng, participated in the UNECE 26th Session of Committee on Sustainable Energy at its headquarter in Geneva on 26-28 September 2017, and delivered a keynote speech during the opening. This high-level UNECE event opened by UNECE Executive Secretary, attracted experts from government and energy industry.
In the keynote address, Dr Sun elaborated on IEF role and efforts on fostering greater mutual understanding and awareness of common energy interests in line with UN Sustainable Development SDG. He also addressed the achievements by the IEF and its Member Countries on fulfilling key functions to strengthen energy security along energy transition pathways.
Dr Sun also had a bilateral meeting with HE Olga Algayerova, UNECE Executive Secretary, and discussed the future potential cooperation between the UNECE and the IEF.
