JODI Inter Secretariat Meeting 10 September 2025 V2

JODI Inter-Secretariat meeting - September 2025

Virtual Event

The IEF chaired the second 2025 JODI Inter-Secretariat Meeting on 10 September 2025 virtually with the participation of six JODI partner organizations including APECGECFIEA, IEF, OPEC, and UNSD.

During the meeting a review of JODI performance during the last six months was delivered by the different partner organizations where a presentation on member countries and economies’ participation assessment was addressed by each JODI partner organization representative. Following this review, the meeting focused on enhancing the sustainability of Member Countries and Economies reporting data and reinforcing data completeness and quality.

The IEF presented a summary on the status of the upcoming JODI Seminar on Energy Market Data Transparency: JODI and beyond, that will be hosted by the IEF on 25 November this year. Updates on the preparations for the next Inter-Secretariat meeting that will be held in-person alongside this meeting were also discussed. Further updates on enhancing data accessibility from the JODI website were provided by the IEF, notably in terms of recent implementation of new JODI Gas dashboards that aim to support JODI users with a user-friendly platform.

Finally, capacity building and engagement activities that involve organizing joint workshops to support and enhance data submissions notably from regions that are currently not represented in the JODI World Databases, were discussed. The meeting set 2026 as the year for preparing and organizing capacity-building workshops in regions where energy data and market transparency require the collective support of the IEF and JODI Partner Organizations to reinforce timely, reliable and complete data submissions.

The unique collaboration of Partner Organizations within the JODI framework remains uniquely positioned to sustain and improve global energy market transparency. The IEF as the coordinator of initiative along with JODI partner organizations will continue to work on overcoming data gaps and ensuring that timely, complete and reliable official energy data is made readily available on the JODI platform to promote energy security and energy markets stability as well as orderly, just, and affordable transitions through well informed decisions.
