EDF power solutions Joins the International Energy Forum's Industry Advisory Council
The International Energy Forum is pleased to welcome EDF power solutions to its Industry Advisory Council (IAC), further strengthening the Council's representation across the evolving global energy landscape.
EDF power solutions, a subsidiary of EDF Group, is a major international player in renewable and low carbon power generation. Active across Europe, North America, Latin America, the Middle East, Africa and Asia Pacific, the company develops, builds, operates and maintains renewable energy projects including onshore and offshore wind, solar, battery storage, and hybrid systems. Its participation in the IEF Industry Advisory Council reflects the growing importance of integrated power systems, flexibility solutions, and large-scale clean energy deployment in strengthening energy security and enabling orderly transitions.
The International Energy Forum is the world’s leading platform for inclusive, neutral, and data driven energy dialogue. It convenes governments, industry leaders, and key stakeholders to foster informed exchange on energy security, market stability, and transition pathways. By bridging producer and consumer perspectives, sharing best practices, and advancing practical cooperation, IEF dialogue helps avoid zero sum outcomes and supports more secure, predictable, and sustainable energy systems.
The Industry Advisory Council provides a vital bridge between policymakers and industry leaders, advising the IEF Secretary General and Executive Board with real- world industry perspectives. The Council meets regularly to inform the IEF Program of Work, ensuring that ministerial dialogue is grounded in operational realities across the full energy value chain, including hydrocarbons, electricity, renewables, low carbon fuels, and emerging technologies.
Jassim Alshirawi, Secretary General of the IEF, said:
"We are delighted to welcome EDF power solutions to the IEF Industry Advisory Council. As the world electrifies at pace and invests in greater system resilience, the practical experience of leading renewable and power system developers is essential to informed global dialogue. EDF power solutions brings deep expertise in large scale clean energy deployment, grid integration, and hybrid solutions that complement our broader mandate to support secure, affordable, and inclusive energy transitions."
Luc Koechlin, CEO Middle East of EDF power solutions, said:
"We are honored to join the Industry Advisory Council of the International Energy Forum. In a world facing complex energy challenges, collaboration between industry and policymakers is more critical than ever. At EDF power solutions, we are committed to building a net-zero energy future through innovation and partnership. We look forward to contributing our global experience in renewable energy, grid modernization, and energy services to the vital dialogue hosted by the IEF, and working with fellow council members to accelerate the transition to a sustainable energy future."
Through the Industry Advisory Council, EDF power solutions will contribute insights on accelerating renewable capacity, integrating variable generation, scaling storage, and strengthening system reliability in a context of rising electricity demand driven by digitalization, electrification, and economic growth.
At a time of geopolitical uncertainty, investment constraints, and rapid technological change, the IEF’s inclusive platform, bringing together governments and industry across regions and fuels, provides a neutral space to build confidence, improve transparency, and enhance cooperation.
EDF power solutions' participation reinforces the IEF's commitment to ensuring that policymaking is informed by real-world operational experience and that dialogue reflects the full diversity of the modern energy system.
