International Energy Forum Sec-Gen meets Japan's Ambassador to Saudi Arabia

IEF SG and Japanese ambassador to Saudi Arabia, H.E. Iwai Fumio

RIYADH, SAUDI ARABIA: The Secretary General of the International Energy Forum H.E. Joseph McMonigle held a meeting with the newly appointed Japanese ambassador to Saudi Arabia, H.E. Iwai Fumio, the IEF announced today.

The discussion held at the Japanese Embassy in Riyadh focused on energy markets, current dialogue activities being organized by the Forum as well as the transition to a sustainable energy system and the important role that technology will play.

"Japan is a very important member of the International Energy Forum and has a unique role to play in today's energy market and in the transition to a sustainable future," said Mr McMonigle. "I look forward to working closely with Japan and Ambassador Iwai as we pursue our shared objectives of energy security, market stability and data transparency."

Ambassador Iwai said: "The International Energy Forum is indeed a unique organization where both producing and consuming countries gather together to enhance their common interests in energy security and market stability."

"As a representative of my country, Japan, I look forward to working closely with the International Energy Forum and Secretary General McMonigle as well as the host nation, Saudi Arabia," he added.

The International Energy Forum is the leading global facilitator of dialogue between sovereign energy market participants.
