International Energy Forum to Participate in St Petersburg Economic Forum
RIYADH, Saudi Arabia: The Secretary General of the International Energy Forum (IEF), Joseph McMonigle, will participate in the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum in Russia on 2-5 June, the IEF announced.
The St Petersburg forum is one of the first major in-person events to be held since the coronavirus pandemic forced many countries into lockdown last year. It will focus on the theme "A Collective Reckoning of the New Global Economic Reality".
"I look forward to participating in this important forum at such a pivotal moment for the global economy, when policy makers need to collaborate much more closely to ensure we build back better, and nobody is left behind in the recovery," said Mr McMonigle.
Mr McMonigle was invited by the Government of Russia, an important IEF member. In addition to attending the forum, he will take part in bilateral meetings with ministers, government and industry officials during the week-long event.
Other dignitaries expected to attend the forum include Total Chairman and CEO Patrick Pouyanne, Wintershall Dea GmbH Chairman of the Board and CEO Mario Mehren, and Siemens Energy AG President and CEO Christian Bruch.
The forum includes more than 130 expert discussions and covers a wide range of topics, including energy security and sustainability, which are key priorities for the IEF.
