Chatham House Workshop on Mismatches: States, Markets & Finance in the Oil & Gas Sector

London, United Kingdom

The complexity and cost of energy investments has been on the rise just as shifts in the energy landscape, the global economic recession, and the potential of policy changes to address climate change appear to condition the adequate funding of energy projects.

IEF Secretary General Aldo Flores-Quiroga participated in this workshop which gathered experts to explore these subjects in a set of three panel discussions. They focused on the potential mismatch in supply and demand for oil, the drive to promote renewable energy through more determinate policies, and the financial position of banks and energy companies might interact to facilitate or restrain financing in the industry.
